unnecessary distractions

This was my first time to experience Vundabar live in concert, although I have been a fan of their music for several years. The music and the message were very positive and uplifting, despite the distracting presentation with the extreme bright lights directed at the audience. The intensity of the lights did not permit me to read the center screen with the words of the songs being sung. I may be a traditionalist, but I believe that stage lighting should illuminate the stage and not the audience, and should be invisible to the audience. When the band members were introduced, all I saw was a blur and shadow since the lights were behind them. The vertical light bars and the high-intensity spots were so bright that they were painful and caused me to close my eyes during most of the presentation. I encourage the lighting director to consider how the presentation could enhance, rather than distracting from, the content of the music and lyrics by focusing on the message. I did not include any photos or videos since it was stated that they were not to be recorded during the concert.
